Mark Bravo - Finding your MOMENTUM: On the roads.....and off!

Mark Bravo is a freelance writer and national broadcaster.  Mark has a 35 year career as a TV and radio commentator for running and other sports events.  His career as a coach started with running and wellness, and now he mentors "athletes" countrywide.  Most recently he has published Momentum:  77 Observations Toward a Life Well Lived.

A veteran of over 30 marathons and 400 road races, Mark has a personal best of 2:44 in the marathon, 34:30 in the 10K, and ran a 17:00 5K the night he turned 40.  He doesn't measure accomplishement by the clock though; it's a personal quest that varies for almost everyone.

After two hip surgeries - the last a total hip replacement May 2007 - Mark has returned to running, and April 2008 ran a 43 minute 10K.  The journey we've taken on isn't always of our choosing; nonetheless, it can be an eye-opening experience, one of amazing growth and unrelenting possibilities.

The Pedestriennes, America's Forgotten Superstars
While working on a book about women distance runners, writer Harry Hall stumbled across the virtually untold story of the pedestriennes, the professional female endurance walkers who dazzled 1870's America with their on and off track exploits. Fascinated by the pedestriennes, Harry spent nearly 15 years touring the country conducting research that included interviewing descendants of the pioneering women athletes. The result is the first book ever written on these women, the nationally-acclaimed, The Pedestriennes, America's Forgotten Superstars.
The speaker is one-time 2:27 marathoner and two-time Boston finisher Harry Hall, who has written for several publications during his 25 year writing career, including The Dallas Morning News. Additionally, Harry is an award-winning radio talk show host, and teaches public speaking at the University of Dallas.
